February

Remember how I said it's kind of a struggle to think of things to do in January?  Well, apparently our February was so happening that the best pictures I have are of these two drinking hot chocolate while Thomas has a doctor's appointment.

No, wait.  Fur Rondy!  Fur Rondy happens in February.  We went to check out the ice sculptures and to watch some dogsled races on the streets downtown.

My Christmas present from Paul was an annual pass to the museum.  What a great idea!  We spent a lot of time there this winter in the kids' part and also enjoying the other exhibits.  There are some lovely Anchorage views from the upper levels.

We also did some more sled skating out on Potter's Marsh.  It was a gorgeous day and we all had a lot of fun.

We made good use of our Christmas score of art supplies on many a cold afternoon.

Just when we thought we might lose it, Mom came!!!  What a treat.  I cannot overemphasize how great it was to have a visit from Grandma to brighten up our lingering winter.  The kids loved having her around.  They still talk about the little mirror in her purse that she would let them play with.

After she left, Esme talked for a long time about how she wished Grandma were still here.
