A little over a month ago Paul's brother Pete decided to get married to the amazing Leah...in 2 weeks! Those crazy cats! They were super understanding and realized that us all coming to Memphis with such little notice wasn't something they expected us to do. Well, if you know the Rigg family, they like to get together and no one could pass up such a great opportunity to see each other. Besides...it's not every day Pete gets married. So off we went to Tennessee for the weekend.
It was great to meet Leah. What a sweetheart! You know how sometimes people are just perfect for each other...well these two are like that.
We met Leah and her family at a cute little restaurant where we ate some good ol' southern cookin.

We spent that night and the next morning setting up for the wedding at Leah's sister's house. It kept raining on and off so we were all holding our breath that it would clear up for their ceremony in the backyard. Eric was trying to light candles and it was quite the undertaking because they were all soaking wet.

Finally it was time for the wedding. It was lightly raining but that couldn't put a damper on the love that was so apparent between these two. You could feel it busting out of them. I loved the look on Pete's face when he first saw Leah in her dress. I don't think I'll ever forget that moment.

So they rode off into the sunset. Paul's family left the next morning. It was great to see everyone even if it was a quick visit.
We stayed one more day. We were left to our own devices, which of course resulted in us taking timed pictures of ourselves in the hotel room.
It was nice to stay in a nice hotel room instead of the (kind of nasty) hostels that we always end up in when we're travelling with each other. Thanks Jeff and Kathy!
We drove into Memphis and looked at the Mississippi River. It's big.
All in all it was a pretty chill weekend of family and fun that just happened to be on the other side of the country.

Okay I loved this post SOOOO much it almost made me cry! Thank you thank you for posting about Pete's wedding! We wished so badly that we could've been there but it's so nice to be able to read your account. I love that the whole family was there to support Pete on his big day. Leah truly seems like his soulmate and even from the pictures you can tell they are just so in love. Totally got chills when you described the moment that Pete first say Leah in her dress...I'm tearing up again just thinking about it!! So happy for those two and happy that you and Paul could be there for that special day!! Love you guys!
