Yesterday we hiked back on the South Fork trail by Eagle River. We forgot our camera, so this lovely image is courtesy of Google, bless their hearts. This is exactly what it looked like yesterday, but more cloudy. Notice how one of the lakes is a glacial lake (bright blue) and the other is freshwater.
We were glad there wasn't a lot of incline, because our little out of shape selves felt like we took a pounding. We kept thinking about A.) all our runner friends and how they would run these 11 miles after work and think nothing of it and C.) my 60 year old dad and his upcoming hike that will consist of 30 mile days.
We had a lovely time just being outside. Paul made us some wicked tuna/oyster sandwiches that we enjoyed in the half-finished cabin in the center of the picture. We've come to a shared custody agreement for our Monday plans. We alternate one week hiking, the next week fishing. Paul's jumping the gun a little this week and we're heading down to the Russian on Thursday after work. Wish us luck with some reds!

I sort of want to give that glacial lake a hard time for looking so fake. It's not really fair to that dull little freshwater one.
